    October 10, 2012 – “DiskManip” Utility Updated

Aaron Brockbank has updated his “DiskManip” (formerly “TODMK”) utility to v1.0.6.40. Changes are:

  • Bug Fix: CRC calculation for Single Density disks is now correct

  • New Feature: DMK Repair* by merging two different DMK images into one.

  • New Feature: Import real Double Density (NO SD) disks into DMK and D88 formats using the built in floppy disk controller (provided “fdinstall” is installed beforehand).

  • New Feature: Automatically determines drive size (as in 8in, 5.25in, 3.5in) and density (SD, DD, and HD)

  • New Feature: Analyze (experimental). Display directory of Model II disks (TRSDOS 1.2 and 2.0, LS-DOS 6.3.1 and DOSPLUS II A.00)
        * This is a biggie folks, if you have 2 DMK reads with different errors (say one disk image had a bad track 11 and another had a good track 11 but a bad track 22) it will automatically create a DMK which uses the good tracks/sectors from the different reads.

    September 5, 2012 – TODMK Utility Updated

Aaron Brockbank has updated his “TODMK” utility to v1.03.20. Changes are:

  • Fixed DMK import and Export

  • Fixed TD0 import

  • Changed DMK export to write a copy of DMK file

  • Exports CRC and BadID sectors as read, doesn’t attempt to ‘fix’ nor ‘repair’ them

  • Added D88 Format Compatibility

While all these features are great, what Aaron has in store for this utility is mind blowing.
