Vision Enhancement The LVE (Low Vision Editor) package displays text, prompts, and input in a large graphics font. LVE supplies several sizes of print to compensate for varying degrees of vision impairment. The program features many display formats for reading text such as vertical paging, line rolling, horizontal or spiral scrolling, and word stepping. You can use manual stepping or adjustable-speed automation for all of these. You can store files up to 18K. Documentation, instructions, and help files are on disk for display by LVE. The product includes a printed cue card and learning exercises. The LVE23 package uses an enlarged, double-width font: 32 characters per line and 16 lines per screen. When DATABASE BAS is run, the user must input the directory size. In general, the size chosen depends on the total number of entries planned for file 'RECORDS'. Attribute Number - Line 8010 shows the equation used to calculate a unique attribute number for each combination of attributes for this application. In general, if we have N1 possible attributes of type A1, N2 possible attributes of type A2, and so forth, $$frac{1}{1} cdot (N2 N3 N4 dots) (A1 - 1) + (N3 N4 dots) (A2 - 1) + dots + A9$$ In our case, N1 6, N2 5, N3 2, A1 C, A2 L and A3 B, so 11 (5 2)(C-1) 2(L-1) B or 11 10C-2L-B-12 This equation would be modified to suit the application being considered. Hashed Array Search Routine - subroutine 8000 uses a hashed search routine for rapid access to the first sub-record corresponding to a given attribute number. Once the first sub-record is found, it links to the second, the second links to the third, and so forth, thus enabling the program to rapidly find all the sub-records. (A sequential search would be very slow by comparison). CHANGES TO ATRISRCH/BAS FOR OTHER APPLICATIONS The following changes can be made to adapt the program to other applications: LINE 30: Change size of index as described above to 2 times the number of entries anticipated in 'RECORDS'. LINES 1120-1150, 6020-6050, 6140-6170, 9000-9150, and 10000-10180: Modify these lines to pertain to the attributes of the new application. LINES 3030, 3130, 5000, 5020, 5030: Change to fit the new application's field lengths and subrecord definition (for further discussion see to Radio Shack TRSDOS & Disk BASIC REF Manual, pages 7-73 and 7-74). The AGS-1 Natal Horoscope gives a complete calculation of a natal horoscope for use by professional astrologers. Priced at $125, it must be special ordered as the supplier tailors the program to the buyer's system.
