Telling Time contains lessons that work with digital and analog time recognition at four difficulty levels: hour, half-hour, quarter-hour, and five-minute intervals. Money trains students to count money, determine whether or not they have enough to buy particular items, and count change. When a student has correctly answered a set number of problems, he or she can play the arcade game as a reward. Teachers can use the system to hold up to 200 names and view, print, or delete all or individual files. It is written in LEVEL II BASIC and loads a machine-language program for terminal operation. Some of the important features of TERM80 are as follows: . All RS-232 options are set through the keyboard rather than the switches. Terminal characteristics may be changed/checked at any time, even while on-line! Terminal operation is true full duplex - keys may be struck while characters are being received with no character loss. Terminal operation is both upper and lower case, with shift lock key. If the TRS-80 has been modified for lower case display, the CRT display driver is modified automatically. All ASCII characters may be transmitted. Any key held down more than 1.5 seconds will automatically repeat. The BREAK key performs a true break function. Received data may optionally be echoed to the printer. This option may be turned on and off at the keyboard while data is being received. Provision is made for optional handshake to insure no character loss when operating above 1200 baud. Test Generator lets teachers enter up to 500 questions and then use them to design tests. Questions can be fill in the blank, matching, multiple choice, true/false, and short answer/essay. You can enter them according to classifications such as chapter, skill, or subject. To design a test, you can choose specific questions or ask the computer to randomly select them. You can mix question types and classifications, and you can edit and print tests and questions. Test Generator sells for $49.95, or $64.95 with back-up disk. Main Idea Gold Rush is a two-player adventure game that provides drill in determining the main idea of a paragraph. It simulates a journey west during the Gold Rush; players move by correctly identifying the main idea of a paragraph they are given to read. The first player to reach San Francisco wins. The program also includes a student-management system that records student names, raw scores, and the percentage correct. The system holds up to 200 student files in alphabetical order. There are two versions of the game: one written at the third- and fourth-grade level, and one for the fifth- and sixth-grades. Either version sells for $39.95, or $54.95 with back-up disk. Teach It ($79.95) lets you create lesson units that include introductory information; objectives; pretest, post-test, and unit test questions; lesson text; supplementary reading lists; and even graphics. You can choose from four different question formats: multiple choice, true-false, fill-in-the-blank, or modified true-false. Test It ($49.95) creates a different test for every class or student. You build a bank of test questions that you can expand and save. You can select questions for a particular test or indicate the number, difficulty, and mix of questions you want.
