Regression II [Parafit]MISSING
REGRESSION II (PARAFIT) (available for all computers) PARAFIT is a parametric least squares regression program designed specifically for the determination of the non-linear coefficients in complicated mathematical expressions. This is to be contrasted with the linear polynomial coefficients calculated by REGRESSION I. A typical problem suited for analysis by PARAFIT might be the following. Information has been collected on the failure rate of a particular product. This information is in the form of the normalized fraction of items which failed per unit time interval after production. The times at which these data were collected may not be equally spaced such that the set consists of many (fi, ti) pairs. The functional form assumed is the Weibull distribution. Given the fi, ti data pairs, what are the least squares regression values for the parameters u and v? PARAFIT may be used to solve this problem. The user inserts the functional form as a BASIC program statement and runs PARAFIT. The program employs a special form of modified steepest descent to interactively determine the unknown parameters. Features included in PARAFIT are automatic plotting of the data fitted function and residuals; cassette (or diskette) data saving and loading; and data file building/editing. PARAFIT was designed to be easy to use as well as effective, and is an excellent companion to REGRESSION I. PARAFIT is supplied with a comprehensive 14 page manual which fully describes the program's use. Requires 16K of program memory (Atari version requires 24K). Advanced Statistics will provide you with the ability to perform statistical tests never before available on small computers. Its cassette based data file system allows you to store, retrieve and transform data files for use in several different tests. File Manager File Manager, the heart of the statistical file management, allows you to create, edit, and transform data files. Unique to this program are features that allow the user to perform transformations on variables, extract and create subfiles, and selectively copy records. Up to twenty variables and an unlimited number of cases can be processed. Descriptive Statistics Descriptive Statistics computes the mean, standard deviation, standard error of estimate, variance, skewness, kurtosis, range, median, and quartiles for a variable and constructs a histogram for each value. A test scoring option for conversion of raw scores into percentiles is included. Two Variable Statistics This program calculates descriptive statistics for each variable. It performs a t-test for the difference of means, computing the product-moment correlation coefficient and its associated significance level. In addition, it performs linear regression and computes standard error of estimate for Y. Crosstabulation This program constructs contingency tables for displaying frequencies, column percentages and table-wide percentages for each cell. It computes the Chi-square, the level of significance and gamma statistics. Tables as large as 10x10 may be evaluated. Regression-Trend Analysis This program computes least-squares regression coefficients from time-series or paired data for best-fit equations (linear, parabolic, hyperbolic, logarithmic, power, exponential and cubic types). Calculates standard error of estimate for each equation and more. Multiple Linear Regression Performs multiple linear regression using up to ten independent variables. The program computes both unstandardized and normalized coefficients, covariance, multiple correlation coefficient, and the standard error of estimate. Correlation Analysis Computes product-moment correlation matrices, multiple correlation coefficients and partial correlation coefficients with their associated significance levels. Analysis of Variance This program performs one-way and two-way analysis of variance for a maximum of ten groups in each control variable. Statistics include the mean and standard deviation for each group, sum of the squares, degrees of freedom, mean square, F-ratios, and significance level.
