Help categorize the TRS-80 software archive

Nearly 30,000 programs, and almost none of them say what kind of program they are. Mark whatever you recognize. Pick as many words as fit — a game that teaches arithmetic is Game, Math, Education — then send the page. Everything is reviewed by hand before it goes anywhere near the archive, so a best guess is worth more than a blank.

Important Note: Do not do multiple entries of the same program. If you flag Super Nova by Big Five once, all Super Nova by Big Five entries will get updated. No need to waste your time flagging each Super Nova

NumbMISSING

Molimerx Ltd

NUMB - RECOVER PROGRAMS AS WELL AS RENUMBER This program is a utility for renumbering, merging and recovering programs. The renumber section of the program is reasonably luxurious in that it is not just a straight renumber. It is possible to renumber a selected portion of the program and warning is given of any unreferenced lines in that program. The merge feature is the normal one whereby one can block off a resident Basic program, load or type in another one, load and then rejoin. This can be done as many times as is required. The recover section of the program is intended to be used when a resident program is inadvertently lost by, for instance, typing NEW by mistake, or unintentional reboot. Obviously, in order for this feature to work, the vectors and other Basic data addresses must have been left untouched. The program may be put on to disk, but as both TRSDOS and NEWDOS have renumbering features built into them, disk users will obviously find the program rather unattractive. NUMB is compatible with the Video Genie.

Numbering [Renumbering Utility]MISSING

Tom Stibolt / Acorn Software Products, Inc.

NUMBERING by Tom Stibolt from Acorn Several commands found in other BASICs are left out of the Radio Shack versions. This machine language package will add several commands to your system. And they are available directly from BASIC using the NAME command. Normally loading more than one BASIC program into memory is a problem. With the append feature of this package you can load another program without losing the program in memory. In either Level II or DOS, you can create one combined program with a menu to access other appended programs. The thorough documentation supplied by Acorn shows you how to do this and more. This package adds to your system a complete BASIC renumbering command, written in machine language. Whether you want to renumber an entire program, or only one section, it is the fastest renumbering routine we have seen. Optional arguments to the command allow you to specify the new starting line number and the increment. Also, for renumbering only a section of your program, you can specify the first and last line number. Renumbering improves BASIC programs in many ways. Renumbering a program before printing it makes it easier for others to type into their machines. It also makes it easier to follow the structure of programs, especially if the blocks of the program are seperately renumbered. As a debugging aid, renumbering of an entire program will detect any undefined line errors faster than running the program itself. And, the memory requirements of programs can be reduced by simply renumbering with a small increment and a small starting number. Another command allows you to fix or recover NEWed programs or those lost by a DOS reboot. Paul Bump of Warsaw, Indiana wrote us about Numbering to say that he 'can't imagine anyone being without it. This is a must for everyone.' The 16k, 32k and 48k versions are all on the same tape for 14.95.

NUMBERKRUNCHER I (TRS-80 only) NUMBERKRUNCHER is an extremely powerful data processing package. Because NUMBERKRUNCHER is actually a collection of programs (version 2.0), it can perform its operations in systems as small as 16K. In terms of data input/output, NUMBERKRUNCHER has the following features: . In-memory data base common to all program modules . Up to 255 data sets, each with a 6 character name, within the data base . Complete data editing facilities . Storage I/O and printer support for data bases and data sets Also provided is a module to perform multiple linear correlation and regression with provisions for printing the variance/covariance matrix. Included is the ability to predict, as well as examine the residuals. These statistical analysis procedures are supported by a graphics module which draws both scatter diagrams as well as histograms. Axis labelling is available, as well as cummulative distribution plotting. Another feature, and one which is unique, is the transform module. With this subprogram you may transform your data in any of 47 ways (one being a user-defined transformation). These transforms include addition/subtraction of two data sets, trigonometric and logarithmic transformations; standard deviation normalization; lead/lag moving average; linear combinations; and many more. These and other features are fully described in the extensive (55 pages) documentation package supplied with NUMBER-KRUNCHER. If you deal with numbers and have a TRS-80, NUMBERKRUNCHER is a must! Version 2.0 consists of several separate programs on cassette and requires only 16K of memory. Version 2.1 is composed of a single program and needs 32K to operate. State which version you wish. Price: $39.95 Cassette $43.95 Diskette

NUMBERKRUNCHER II (TRS-80 only) This is the second software package in the NUMBER-KRUNCHER series. NUMBERKRUNCHER II contains all the excellent data creation, storage, manipulation and editing features of NUMBERKRUNCHER I, as well as nice bar graph displays. There are two types of statistical calculations performed by this program. The first is a comprehensive calculation of summary statistics, including ten simple statistics and a Kolmogorov goodness-of-fit test. The simple statistics are the mean, median, max., min., midrange, sample standard deviation, variance, skewness, kurtosis and Durbin-Watson statistic. The second main set of calculations involve the auto- and partial-correlations. Included are the differencing transform and the Box-Pierce statistic. NUMBERKRUNCHER II is supported by an excellent 43 page instruction manual. It is available in both cassette and diskette; both 16K and 32K cassette versions are available (state which when ordering).
