LP-Disk [Linear Programming]MISSING
Linear Programming LP-Disk solves any linear programming problem with up to 50 variables and 50 constraints (maximize, minimize, less than, greater than, or equal to). The simplex algorithm is in machine language for fast calculation. The program supports full disk I/O features including save the problem on disk, change the problem data and save the last tableau on disk. It offers optional printing of the problem data and the tableaus. All printed output is in a readable format. The solution includes sensitivity analysis (price ranges and shadow prices) and maximum error of solution. 'LPSPOOL' LINE PRINTER SPOOLER for the TRS-80 Model I LPSPOOL is a facility which permits concurrent printing and processing. The significant features of LPSPOOL include the following: . Computer 'throughput' is increased by allowing printing to be done while the computer is used for other purposes. Multiple copies of output may be produced automatically, without user program changes. Output may be held until a more convenient time for printing, or deleted if not required. Output may be temporarily stopped, resumed or restarted at any time if printer or paper problems are encountered. Supports parallel or serial printers. Print output is written (spooled) to disk automatically by LPSPOOL, which subsequently prints (despools) the information. All these features are available without changes to a user's program. LPSPOOL includes a 'multi-tasking' monitor which automatically keeps the printer busy (foreground task), while at the same time allows the users program to run (background task). LPSPOOL, acts like an extension to the lineprinter driver. When LPSPOOL is active, print data is directed to spool disk files. As print files are created, their names are inserted in a spool queue. The foreground despooler, also working from a queue, looks for active entries ready for printing. The spool and despool queue may be the same to provide automatic printing as spool files are generated. A set of LPSPOOL commands is provided to control the spool and despool activity. These commands may be entered by the user with the SPOOL library command or by BASIC with the LPRINT command. The LPRINT may be used in an application program or by the user in BASIC direct execution (keyboard) mode. Assembly language programs may also invoke these commands by calls to the line printer driver. An on-line display facility provides a dynamic status display of the LPSPOOL system. LPSPOOL may be used to significantly increase the 'throughput' of the TRS-80. It can be used to save print information in disk files for subsequent and repeated use. This allows multiple copies of output without the necessity of re-running the application programs which generated them. Further, a despool queue can be established which allows unattended operation for long print jobs. Each queue entry allows the specification of spool filename, number of copies, form type, whether the file is to be printed immediately, and whether the queue entry and/or file is to be deleted after printing. diskDISK Are you running out of directory space on your hard disk? Are you tired of allocating in granules that are much bigger than your average file? If so, you need diskDISK. The diskDISK utility allows the creation of 'logical disk partitions' as files on a physical disk drive. This is an excellent utility for large-volume (eighty track or double sided) floppy drive owners, and is almost indispensable for hard disk users. Once a diskDISK file is 'installed' into a logical drive slot, the diskDISK can be used just like any other physical drive, and there are no restrictions as with many other concepts of 'partitioning'. Almost all operating system functions are available just as though this file were an actual physical drive. Also, a diskDISK file can be used as a system drive, and/or may be SYSGENed in place if desired. With diskDISK, you can easily group related files for ease of maintenance. DiskDISK files can also be set up as 'images' of physical drives to allow mirror image backups. Finally, diskDISK drives allocate in granule sizes smaller than your hard disk system. Five inch diskDISK images allocate just like floppy drives. Also, there are special diskDISK types that allocate in one or two sector granules for maximum storage efficiency. The advantages of using diskDISK simply can't be overstated. This should be considered a must for hard disk owners. Please note that you are still limited to a total of eight logical drives active simultaneously, but diskDISK provides for easy swapping of any currently active diskDISK file. LS-QFB is a high performance machine-language utility that will Quickly perform a Format and Backup operation in a single step. LS-COMP will perform a byte by byte comparison between any two disks or files. LS-QFB is designed to perform a mirror-image backup in the minimum time possible, and does not require that the destination disk be formatted first. Each cylinder on the destination disk is formatted, and the information is then transferred from the source disk to the destination disk. The data on the destination disk is then verified as readable. Optionally, a second verify may be done while stepping the head back out after the backup is completed. LS-COMP is designed to perform a byte-for-byte comparison between two given files or diskettes. A complete listing of the discrepancies can be sent to either the video display or to the printer. Taken together, LS-QFB and LS-COMP are excellent tools for any TRSDOS 6 user that deals with large diskette libraries or large amounts of data.
