Help categorize the TRS-80 software archive

Nearly 30,000 programs, and almost none of them say what kind of program they are. Mark whatever you recognize. Pick as many words as fit — a game that teaches arithmetic is Game, Math, Education — then send the page. Everything is reviewed by hand before it goes anywhere near the archive, so a best guess is worth more than a blank.

Important Note: Do not do multiple entries of the same program. If you flag Super Nova by Big Five once, all Super Nova by Big Five entries will get updated. No need to waste your time flagging each Super Nova

grbasc23.zip

GRBASIC: GRAPHICS ENHANCEMENT PACKAGE GRBASIC 3.0 adds a set of fundamental graphics commands to BASIC which allow the user to perform very sophisticated graphic manipulations without having to resort to USR calls or a string packing technique. Even so, the speed with which GRBASIC operates is comparable to machine language speed (i.e., instantaneous). The commands fall into four classes, as follows: Line drawing, Circle drawing, Shape drawing, and Sound Generation. GRBASIC allows you to store all graphics on disk or tape, or as DEFB statements. Graphics can also be stored into strings dynamically. Also generates sound! Disk version, just $24.95. Supplied on Model I disk, converts to Model III.

GRBASIC GRBASIC extends Level II or DISK BASIC to include an easy to use graphics command set. A single BASIC command allows the user to draw a line between any two pixels on the screen in hundredths of a second! Coordinates can be chained to allow complex figures to be drawn by a single BASIC program line in less than a second! GRBASIC allows the definition of shapes. Once defined, a shape can be rotated, scaled up or down in size, drawn anywhere on the screen in less than a second, and can even be drawn totally or partially 'off' the screen in extended space! And all with short, simple BASIC commands! Even multiple shapes are no problem! GRBASIC is not a string-packer or machine-language USR-called utility. GRBASIC is fully integrated into Level II and DISK BASIC. There is nothing on the market that offers its graphic features, except possibly the Apple II computer! Animation, scientific plotting, and professional data displays are now child's play! A new program, GRBASIC FUNCTION PLOTTER, allows the plotting of almost any function, including polar coordinate based figures and almost any wave form. Features include function definition and automatic screen scaling. REQUIRES GRBASIC! GRBASIC cassette $19.95 GRBASIC TRS-DOS disk $24.95 GRBASIC NEWDOS80 disk $24.95 GRBASIC FUNCTION PLOTTER $14.95 Examples of graphics produced with GRBASIC

Graphic Map Adventure from Computer Simulations These may not be a true 'adventure' since they use maps, combat screens and merchant charts, but they are beyond words. Dark Kingdom has four maps where your goal is to defeat the roving monsters, collect gold and silver plus enough fame to combat the evil lord in real life. Lunar Encounter pits you as the protector of the moon colony against the alien force and their leader. Jedi Knight requires you to seek fame and fortune starting as a lowly knight in the last days of the Republic. Struggle with the Lord Vader with your light saber. Mercenary Commander has you as a soldier of Maximillian, the Mexican King. Try to keep the villages under French rule and put down the rebellion. $14.95 each.

Greyhoud Racing AnalysisMISSING

Software Exchange

Dog Days Software Exchange offers two greyhound racing analysis packages for the Models III, 4, 100/200, or IBM PC-compatibles that base predictions on past performance. The Greyhound Racing Analysis Program ($29.95) lets you input the most important data from the racing program (available at the track). Racing Analysis evaluates all the dogs in a race with a rating number after only five minutes of data entry. Enhanced Greyhound Racing Analysis ($49.95) is an improved version of the original program. It analyzes 12 data items for a more detailed evaluation of each dog, including track length (distance), track length (last race), post position, odds, times, positions in the stretch, and finish positions. The computer calculates and displays the ratings on screen or paper. Both programs include a Bet Return Analysis program, which tracks wins and losses. It also gives you the percent gain, if any, for the number of races you bet on. For more information, contact Software Exchange, 2681 Peterboro Road, P.O. Box 5382, W. Bloomfield, MI 48033, 313-626-7208.

Greymoon Greymoon is the medieval land in which this simulation of conquest and economic development takes place. As creator of Greymoon, you can buy, sell, plant, feed, hire, build, raid, invade, and consult various advisers. Objectives? Gain land, become wealthy, develop your initial small village into a city state and increase your rank from master to King. Obstacles? Every year brings one of over a dozen random events, which, until the end of year, are unknown to you except through hints by your advisors. Can you compete with the many neighboring nations of Greymoon? Even has sound routines. It will keep you interested for hours on end. Each game is different. The game is very fast but you can play at your own speed. All ages will like it and it takes no special skills, but a sharp mind. This is better then an adventure game in the fact that each game is different and is more realistic. TRS-80 Model I or III 16K Tape $19.50 Disk 24.95
