Help categorize the TRS-80 software archive

Nearly 30,000 programs, and almost none of them say what kind of program they are. Mark whatever you recognize. Pick as many words as fit — a game that teaches arithmetic is Game, Math, Education — then send the page. Everything is reviewed by hand before it goes anywhere near the archive, so a best guess is worth more than a blank.

Important Note: Do not do multiple entries of the same program. If you flag Super Nova by Big Five once, all Super Nova by Big Five entries will get updated. No need to waste your time flagging each Super Nova

DOS Enhancements Direct, from SOTA Computing Systems Ltd., provides TRSDOS 6.2.x users with a variety of DOS enhancements allowing rapid command processing. When installed as a TRSDOS extended-command interpreter, Direct offers such features as a menu-driven directory and single-key activation of most DOS commands (including listing, copying, removing, renaming, and executing files), a command mode in which users can type in more than one TRSDOS library command on a line, and a file-commenting facility. The screen-saver function blanks the screen whenever the computer has been sitting idle, saving your display from burn-in. Direct requires a Model 4/4P/4D with at least one disk drive and 64K and costs $59.95. For more information, contact SOTA Computing Systems Ltd., 213-1080 Broughton St., Vancouver, British Columbia V6G 2A8, 604-688-5009.

Direction FinderMISSING

Molimerx Ltd

DIRECTION FINDER FOR PILOTS, TRAVELLERS AND THE SIMPLY CURIOUS Although this program probably will have most appeal for pilots and travellers, it also has an educational content for the youngsters and those interested in geography. For two stated points it will give the following information: . Distance in nautical miles (knots.) . Distance in statute miles. Distance in kilometres. The compass bearing from the one to the other expressed in degrees. The approximate compass direction - South West, North East etc. A graphical representation of the compass rose with the positions indicated. The two points may be entered in two ways. Firstly, stored in data lines are the latitudes and longitudes of over 125 major cities in the world. With these cities it is only necessary to enter their names to obtain the information. For smaller towns you may enter the latitude and longitude and the same information will be provided. Additional features are: . Distances and bearings plus the time taken. Table of distances and times on a multi leg voyage. Bearing, speed and time taken, corrected for wind. A list of the cities and their data on file. Although we have emphasised the global aspects of this program, we should also say that it will be of use to car travellers in England as well. A large number of the cities or towns on file are in the British Isles, even John O'Groats and Landsend! The accuracy of the program is good although some errors are bound to creep in, due to the machine itself.
