Help categorize the TRS-80 software archive

Nearly 30,000 programs, and almost none of them say what kind of program they are. Mark whatever you recognize. Pick as many words as fit — a game that teaches arithmetic is Game, Math, Education — then send the page. Everything is reviewed by hand before it goes anywhere near the archive, so a best guess is worth more than a blank.

Important Note: Do not do multiple entries of the same program. If you flag Super Nova by Big Five once, all Super Nova by Big Five entries will get updated. No need to waste your time flagging each Super Nova

Day-by-Day [Calendar and Address Program]MISSING

Sota Computing Systems Limited

M4

What Day Is It? SOTA Computing Systems' Day-by-Day is a calendar/address program for Model 4/4P/4D users. It has a daily calendar scheduler for storing memos, reminders, and time schedules and an address book for keeping names, addresses, and phone numbers. The calendar provides users with display screens similar to the pages of a monthly calendar. Users can store information in any date and highlight days for which they've scheduled events or jotted reminders. The address book can store as many as 100 names and addresses. Both functions offer a variety of sorting, searching, and printing options. Day-by-Day's calendar covers the years from 1977-2020 and is written in machine language for speed and efficiency. The program manual includes tutorial chapters that assist users in extracting full processing power. The program runs under either TRSDOS 6.2.x or DOS-PLUS 4. It will also work with Radio Shack's Double Duty program. The package costs $59.95. DDMS [Diskette Directory Management System]MISSING

Micro Data Systems

D.D.M.S. If you have more than one diskette you need D.D.M.S.! This is a machine language program that catalogs diskette directories. After you have numbered your diskettes and created the librarian data file, this program becomes the greatest tool in finding your files. It can display the directories on file, continuing when you direct, or it can display the directories on file, automatically stopping when you direct. D.D.M.S. can also find files by using the file's name or any part of it's name (ie. You could find LIBRARY/DAT by telling D.D.M.S. to find Y/D). The D.D.M.S. search time is very good. D.D.M.S. can also update and add directories to it's data file. Finally, D.D.M.S. will print the individual directories, or an alphabetized listing of the files. Let's face it, when you need to find a file you don't want to waste anymore time than necessary. At $19.95 can you afford to be without D.D.M.S.? We don't think so!

AUTOMATIC DENSITY RECOGNITION for Newdos/80 Version 2.0 The evolving line of Apparat operating systems has constantly met with customer approval. However, with the advent of double density, many N/80 V2.0 owners were chagrined by the lack of Automatic Density Recognition -- the capability to recognize both single and double density diskettes. Both can be online at the same time, but we have to reconfigure the PDRIVE parameters as we change density. That is no longer a problem. Headaches gone! DDSD/CMD was designed by Allan J. Domuret, noted author for many popular computer magazines. DDSD is no more complicated than just executing it from DOS READY. No disk ZAPS of any kind are required. DDSD can even be an 'AUTO' file. This program functions with all TRS-80 DOS systems and will not adversely affect fast CPU clock systems. DDSD will load itself at top of available memory, respecting any and all programs present. DDSD is compatible with both Mods I and III. DDSD is available only on cassette, but will easily convert to a disk file by use of LMOFFSET, a utility available to any NEWDOS owner. The general availability of this utility is exciting news for all N/80 V2 persons!! Even more exciting is the price: $19.95, less than half the price of similar utilities. And that's not all For a limited time, DDSD can be yours for just $10 -- if you subscribe to TAS at the same time. Twelve issues are $24, DDSD is $10. For maximum value, our special FLY offer is still available ($45 for 24 issues, FLY is free). There is no better time to check out this journal, so do it now! TAS focuses exclusively on the Mods I and III. DDSD/CMD, alone, is $19.95 plus shipping.

80 News: the Disc Drive Timing program lets every disc drive owner keep track of his disc drive motor speed and adjust it, averting possible data loss and incompatibility among diskettes. Works on any drive, and provides a real-time graphic display of motor speed which allows adjustment within one-tenth of one RPM, out of an optimum 300 RPM. Comes with a 32-page manual that takes the user step-by-step through the analysis and adjustment procedure. Also available for Apple II.
