Help categorize the TRS-80 software archive

Nearly 30,000 programs, and almost none of them say what kind of program they are. Mark whatever you recognize. Pick as many words as fit — a game that teaches arithmetic is Game, Math, Education — then send the page. Everything is reviewed by hand before it goes anywhere near the archive, so a best guess is worth more than a blank.

Important Note: Do not do multiple entries of the same program. If you flag Super Nova by Big Five once, all Super Nova by Big Five entries will get updated. No need to waste your time flagging each Super Nova

BASCON v1.10 [BASIC Conversion Utility from M4 to CPM]

Montezuma Micro + JBO

M8 · 1985 · DMK

bascon11.zip

MONTEZUMA MICRO PRESENTS MONTE'S BASIC Your TRSDOS BASIC (01.01.00) will work the same, for the most part, under CP/M as it does under TRSDOS. However, for the most part isn't good enough. But, with some changes provided by our BASCON program, you can be 100% compatible with the standard BASIC used with CP/M. True, you lose some of the TRSDOS BASIC features while gaining new features such as FILES, NULL, RESET, etc. BASCON alters your TRSDOS BASIC, which was included with your Model 4 when you bought it, so that it will function under CP/M. You must have the unaltered original TRSDOS BASIC as above in order to convert with BASCON. The program operation is fully automatic and quick. The resulting BASIC runs any CP/M 2.2 BASIC program that previously required MBASIC. Programs written for TRSDOS BASIC may require modification to run correctly under the converted BASIC. Fully compatible with MBASIC. We even provide for additional documentation that is keyed by page number to your TRSDOS BASIC manual. MONTE'S BASIC is available right now. Basic Answer v1.0.4 [Serial Number TBA-20029]

45 LSI Catalog L-21-010 / L-21-011 The Basic Answer 8970 North 55th Street/P.O. Box 23956/Milwaukee, WI 53223/(414) 355-5454 1984 The BASIC Answer (TBA) is a text pre-processor utility for writing BASIC programs. It allows the programmer to construct a BASIC program in a structured manner, without line numbers. 'Source' code for TBA can be created with almost any word processor or text editor. In a pinch, even the BASIC interpreter can be used to generate source code. TBA utilizes labels for transferring control to procedures rather than line numbers. Branching is done via these labels instead of line numbers (for example: GOSUB @SORT.NAMES or even GOTO @ASK.FOR.ANSWER). Because line number references are no longer significant, whole blocks of code may be moved or relocated without worrying about line numbers. TBA supports variable names of up to fourteen alphanumeric characters (For example: time.delay%). These 'long' variable names are then automatically reduced to unique two-character names during processing. At the same time, all label references are resolved to line numbers, and TBA outputs a file that may be directly loaded and run by the BASIC interpreter. The compression of variable names and removal of remark statements from the output code maximizes both the speed and memory efficiency of the resulting program. The 'source' code remains in its eminently readable form for ease of analysis and debugging. Optionally, a cross-reference listing may also be produced. TBA also offers 'conditional translation.' This allows whole sections of code to be selected or deselected during processing. 'Machine-dependent' code becomes much easier to produce. Order L-21-010 for LDOS 5.1, or L-21-011 for TRSDOS 6 (LS-TBA).

1 TRS-80 Diskette, 48K; Backup...$44.00<br>Provides practice in arithmetic skills. Designed for use at the elementary level but can also provide remedial work for older students. While guiding a spaceship through a hazardous galaxy, students using Base Ten can practice the multiplication of multiples of ten, decimals, or whole numbers from zero to nine. Math Game provides whole number exercises in all four arithmetic operations and keeps score for up to 35 players. In Speed Drill, students use whole numbers in working with all four arithmetic operations and teachers can set time limits on the presentation of problems. Estimates involve rounding whole numbers and using rounded numbers to estimate answers to arithmetic exercises. Teacher's guide contains worksheets.
