Help categorize the TRS-80 software archive

Nearly 30,000 programs, and almost none of them say what kind of program they are. Mark whatever you recognize. Pick as many words as fit — a game that teaches arithmetic is Game, Math, Education — then send the page. Everything is reviewed by hand before it goes anywhere near the archive, so a best guess is worth more than a blank.

Important Note: Do not do multiple entries of the same program. If you flag Super Nova by Big Five once, all Super Nova by Big Five entries will get updated. No need to waste your time flagging each Super Nova

You work for a company using seven vehicles as company cars. It's late Friday afternoon, close to quitting time. Enter the boss: 'Hey Joe, the accountant just called and needs an expense report for each company car. He said go back six months. Get them ready by noon Monday. Have a nice weekend.' Recovering your wits, you run out for a jar of midnight oil, and upon returning, grab the receipt files. Your torture begins.

What does the word average mean? The arithmetic mean is not the only way by which average values can be expressed. The following tutorial concerns different ways an average value may be expressed, and includes a Program Listing, which will calculate these values with a TRS-80 Level II. TEXT ENHANCEMENT PACKAGE BTEXT B TEXT BTEXT allows the creation and use of alternate character sets from BASIC. BTEXT includes 15 commands which can select character types, create sound, scroll the screen, print inverse characters, and control the cursor. BTEXT comes with two alternate character sets built in. These are large and very large alphanumerics created using graphics blocks. Using a program included in the package, the user can create new character sets and control them using BTEXT. Commands to produce alternate texts are SMALL, LARGE and TEXT. Sound can be produced by using the BEEP command. Any of the alternate character sets can be made black-on-white using the BLACK command. The INVERSE command reverses the color of everything on the screen. The screen can be filled with a specified character X using the FILL X command. The user can turn the cursor on or off in any character set. The PLOT X,Y command moves the cursor to the designated point on the screen. The screen can be scrolled at two speeds, FAST or SLOW. The WINDOW command allows scrolling of the screen only in the section designated by user. BTEXT IRS 80 Model I or Model III Cassette: $19.95 Diskette: $22.95 MED SYSTEMS SOFTWARE P.O. Over 2000 books can be maintained on one double density DATA disk. Average search time by author is 2 seconds with 2000 records in file. Complete reports include: 1)Alphabetical listing of file by author, 2)List all books of one author by title or alphabetical by title, 3)List all books in a selected category, etc. The above Series of programs have many exclusive features. Each application program stores a variety of data in a B-TREE Structured file. The B-Tree file organization method allows fast and efficient access to a large amount of data. With B-TREE, a whole disk of data can be accessed in alphabetic or numeric order without sorting or merging and all in a minimum of time. The user may add, delete, edit, list, print and redisplay the data without any file reorganization necessary. This is one of the BEST ANSWERS to data Storage problems on microprocessors. Fully implements the BINARY SEARCH TREE concepts including insertion, deletion, editing, & traversal. No sorting or long searches for data recovery is needed with B-TREE, yet even larger than memory files can be printed or displayed in sorted order without the necessity of sorts. Varing Key fields possible with duplicates allowed. These are BASIC programs (yet faster than many assembly language programs) with hundreds of REMark statements for easy modification or use of the modules in user programing. Also includes the best INKEY module ever written, allowing the fastest direct screen oriented input you have seen. All programs are non-scrolling with SCREEN oriented design and have all information needed on screen at all times. Back/Rest Fast Hard Disk Backup v1.03

Breeze Computing + QSD

M3 · 1983 · CMD

bkrst103.zip

BACK/REST Fast Hard Disk Backup for TRS-80 4, III, or I Backups or restores an entire logical drive or file-by-file! Files larger than a floppy are NO PROBLEM any longer! BACK/REST can create a mirror-image of hard drive partitions on floppy disks in 20% of the time that a file-by-file backup would normally take; a full 15 megabyte drive should take about 20-35 minutes. BACK/REST is simple to use and will even tell you just how many floppies you will need to have formatted BEFORE you start. Furthermore, only allocated cylinders of the hard drive are copied to speed things up substantially. Platters may be restored either completely or file by file. If you've invested good money into a hard drive system, it doesn't make any sense not to have a good, fast BACKUP routine. BACK/REST makes that job easier and saves much time. TIME IS MONEY. Save yourself from a real problem if your hard drive crashes. BACK/REST will work with all TANDY hard drives and most others that use LDOS or TRSDOS 6.x. 5-Star review in the Oct'85 issue! BACKREST is strongly recommended as insurance against possible digital disaster.' Includes Model 4/4P/4D and III/I version on same disk. Save $50! Normally $99.95, now only $49.95
