Help categorize the TRS-80 software archive

Nearly 30,000 programs, and almost none of them say what kind of program they are. Mark whatever you recognize. Pick as many words as fit — a game that teaches arithmetic is Game, Math, Education — then send the page. Everything is reviewed by hand before it goes anywhere near the archive, so a best guess is worth more than a blank.

Important Note: Do not do multiple entries of the same program. If you flag Super Nova by Big Five once, all Super Nova by Big Five entries will get updated. No need to waste your time flagging each Super Nova

Use all DOS commands (DIR, FREE, RENAME, COPY etc.) from BASIC, AUTO LOAD and RUN a BASIC program from power-up, produce variable and constant cross reference tables, OPEN 'E' to add to the end of a sequential file, send whatever is on the screen to your printer, even in DOS (great for DIR), renumber BASIC programs, and more Fully documented; available on disk for only $49.95. NEWDOS PLUS ALL of the above PLUS: Editor/Assembler for disk, Z-80 Disassembler, LMOFFSET to relocate and save SYSTEM tapes to disk, Level I BASIC language with disk I/O, DIRCHECK to check and LIST disk directory, SUPERZAP-display/print/modify any location in RAM or on disk (worth the price of the entire package when you resurrect that accidentally KILLED file!). NEWDOS+ on disk with documentation, just $99.95.

NEWDOS/80 Additional Utilities PakMISSING

Software Success

NEWDOS/80 inchADDITIONAL UTILITIES' PAK Written by Software Success This disk contains four utilities that almost every NEWDOS/80 user has wished for at one time or another. The first is DIRSORT/CMD, which alphabetizes a disk directory right on the disk itself. You will find this program invaluable if you are running 80-Track or hard drives - it makes searching large 'DIR' listings a breeze! UNKILL/CMD restores a KILLED file automatically. If the filename is still in the directory and the disk space has not been re-assigned or overwritten, you can now easily recover a KILLED file. No longer is it necessary to go through the long, tedious and often unsuccessful procedure of manually restoring the GAT and HIT bytes and the Primary (and Extended) Directory Entries. This utility is a real lifesaver - well worth the price of the disk by itself. DFLIST/CMD displays the list of those KILLED files whose names are still in the directory. These are the candidates for the UNKILL utility. RAMSPOOL/CMD is a 'print spooler' program that works the way it's supposed to, and is a lot easier to use than the SPOOL/CMD program supplied by Apparat. A 'spooler' sets aside a block of memory for your printer output and returns control to your computer as soon as the last character has been sent to this buffer. The data is then sent from the buffer to the printer (usually without printer slowdown) as an interrupt-driven task while you CONTINUE WITH YOUR WORK on the computer. Three keyboard and six SPOOL commands control the functioning of the spooler. It is easy to use and easy to control. This one is a real timesaver. It works only with parallel printers at this time (that includes all Radio Shack printers, and most other printers that connect to the TRS-80 without additional hardware). These programs are supplied on a 35-track, single-density NEWDOS formatted diskette. Fully Model I/III and Hard Disk compatible.

The Newest NEWDOS/80 Version 2.0 For Model I And Model III THE HOTTEST DISK OPERATING SYSTEM FOR THE TRS-80 COMPUTER IS NOW READY FOR THE MODEL III AND VERSION 2.0 IS READY FOR THE MODEL I. MANY ENHANCEMENTS AND ADDED FEATURES SUCH AS NEW COMMANDS MAKE YOUR COMPUTER MORE POWERFUL! DOUBLE DENSITY ON MODEL I Use of the LNW DOUBLER or the PERCOM DOUBLER to expand storage 80% under NEWDOS/80 Version 2.0, mixing single and double density specifications without any patches. SINGLE DENSITY ON MODEL III Will allow the MODEL III to read disks from MODEL I and to write disks the MODEL I can read, making it easy to move programs between the two machines. EXPANDED DIRECTORIES Directories can be expanded three times the normal number of available entries, even on DOS disks. This is extremely useful when using double density. DYNAMICALLY MERGE IN BASIC To allow sections of BASIC programs to be deleted and replaced with lines from a disk file during program execution. Also allows merging of non-ASC II format files. SELECTIVE VARIABLE CLEARING Allows the programmer to keep some variables and release the space used by the rest; also, specific variables may be erased releasing the space they use. PAGE SCROLLING IN BASIC Scrolling has been modified to allow the user to display programs page by page, in addition to the regular line scrolling. REPEAT FUNCTIONS Keys in MODEL I repeat when held down. Entering 'R' as a DOS command causes the previous DOS command to be repeated. ROUTING FOR DEVICE HANDLING To send input and output from one device (display, printer, keyboard, etc.) to others or to a routine in main memory. DISASSEMBLER OUTPUT TO DISK The Disassembler will now write a source code file to disk, which the editor assembler can read and edit. CHAINING ENHANCEMENTS Features to allow chain files to be written from SCRIPSIT; also, chaining may be switched on and off without changing chain file positioning, and may be executed via CMD 'xxx' and DOS-CALL. SUPERZAP has the ability to scan diskettes or disk files to find the occurences of specific values. Also will generate disk file passwords and hashcode. $149.00
