SUPRA TREK - REAL TIME TREK There have been a number of versions of Star Trek on the market, this version could be described as being light years ahead, not only does it offer excellent graphics but a new dimension - time. Each game lasts 15 minutes and you have to get all the Klingons in that time. It also combines some the features of SPACE FIGHTER and similar games in that you have to aim your weapons on the Klingon and hit him - after you have found him. Furthermore, docking is not accomplished by merely impulsing or warping to the sector in which the Star Base is situated. Once you get to the quadrant you have to steer the Enterprise so that it actually docks - and it is not as easy as it sounds! To aggravate the situation you are constantly fighting against time - there is a continuous time display. Compounding this situation is a gradual depletion of your fuel supply and the occasional loss of a crew member. The universe is made up of 27 quadrants or solar systems arranged in a cube (imagine 27 building blocks in a cube). The graphics are not the usual display of quadrants. You are actually stationed on the bridge of the Enterprise with your control panel in front of you. Through this you look out into space and navigate and or defend your ship. The emphasis in this game is more on action - rather than on intellectualising moves. THE SURVEY ANALYST Written by Jim Resh Documentation by Vince Farace The Survey Analyst processes and analyzes the responses to a survey, questionnaire, or poll. It is designed for use in school districts, businesses, government agencies, church groups, trade organizations, private consultants, etc. -- wherever information is collected by survey. The Survey Analyst supports the three most common data formats used for survey questions: Single-choice questions (e.g., typical 'Agree/Disagree' items), multiple-choice questions (e.g., 'Choose ALL that apply'), and questions that require large continuous numbers (e.g., total yearly sales). No restrictions are placed on the original format of the survey. In the Data Entry module, data is carefully screened for accuracy when entered, and can be edited, saved to diskette, and displayed on the video screen or printer. File names are managed by the program to ensure that the correct files are used as needed, and to guard against accidental loss of information. Profiled output is presented in table format and can be easily edited into a report and transported for further analysis on a large computer, or other program. The Survey Analyst is limited to 510 questions per survey, depending on their response format. The number of respondents per study is based on the total available disk space; one 40-track Model III diskette will hold the data from 400 respondents asked 500 single-choice questions. Studies of up to 2,000 respondents have been conducted using The Survey Analyst. The overall results of a survey are important, but often it is important to know how key subgroups of respondents differ -- men vs. women, registered voters with children, etc. The Survey Analyst can profile selected respondent groups on the survey questions and show you these differences in detail. The Survey Analyst actually generates the new BASIC code it requires for each profile analysis! The Survey Analyst requires a TRS-80 Model I, III or 4 with 48K memory, at least two disk drives and LDOS, NEWDOS/80, DOSPLUS or TRSDOS. A 100+ page manual contains an overview of survey research and a detailed presentation of the program's features. an index, annotated appendices on survey research texts, and sample surveys and codebooks. The program and the manual have been field tested in over 50 studies during the past three years. Price is $195, plus shipping and handling. Manual is $30 (applicable toward purchase). MONTEZUMA MICRO WOW! ANOTHER NEW PRODUCT FROM MONTE PRESENTS MONTE'S TOOLKIT $49 REQUIRES: Montezuma Micro CP/M 2.2 version 2.21+ Monte's Toolkit is a collection of utilities that will prove useful to every owner of Montezuma Micro CP/M (you all are owners, aren't you?). It's a disk full of programs that perform functions that are difficult, cumbersome or expensive to do any other way. Monte has tried, in his own way, to briefly explain each function for you below. Read on and be saved. DOUBLECROSS allows unlimited file transfers between CP/M, IBM-DOS and Model 3/4 LDOS /TRSDOS with unsurpassed ease and speed. In fact, you can move just about anything from any disk to any other disk but you might have to make changes for program operation. Lotus 123 just flat won't run on your Model 3 and I doubt that you could ever modify Scripsit enough to run on the IBM. Simple menus guide you through the operation with minimal keystrokes. Just tag the files you want in the directory display and go. You won't get doublecrossed with DBLCROSS. FREEFORM formats and backs up Model 3/4 LDOS/TRSDOS and IBM MS & PC- DOS (versions 1.x, 2.x and 3.x), both single side and double side plus there is a special 'clone' copy when you just don't know or care what you have. Just insert a disk and copy away. All you have to know about the disk is how to get it into the drive. The Analysis feature lets you look at and print the actual structure of a disk - even the ones with 'funny' formats. WSPR lets you print to almost any printer using almost any control code. It's nearly magic and does a whole lot more than I can talk about here including letting you print anything your printer can print. FILEFIX gives you the ability to 'fix' your 'files' by adding line-feeds when your files are going from CP/M or IBM-DOS to LDOS/TRSDOS or take them away if you are transferring the other way. You can remove the control codes from a WordStar document thereby converting it to a non-document file. The fix will also fix up Scripsit files so they can be used by CP/M and IBM-DOS based wordprocessors (you know - the real ones). All this is accomplished with the use of simple menus and boy, it is fast. SYS2M requires 128K and our CP/M. The CCP and the BDOS are moved to drive M and the BIOS is modified to allow a Warm Boot from Drive M. So what you say. Well, you still have to have a disk in drive A but it no longer has to have the CP/M system resident. It can be anything. This little jewel copies frequently used programs to drive M and searches there first for all program requests resulting in much faster program loading. Slick isn't it? AUTO is a little goodie that lets you issue multiple commands from the command line. Eliminates the pain of Submit. As in all the other parts of MONTE'S TOOLBOX, complete and comprehensive instructions are included and it's available right now.

LDOS Users! A special utility package just for YOU: DRIVE-5 Four drives not enough? DRIVE-5 is a memory based disk emulator which allows you to configure a fifth drive IN MEMORY! No moving parts, so access is FAST! In a two drive system, FORMAT and BACKUP can be placed on DRIVE-5 (with /SYS modules) to allow multiple backups with less disk swapping. LOWDUMP LOWDUMP allows you to DUMP files from anywhere in memory, including ROM and video RAM! LOWDUMP allows all parameters as the LDOS DUMP command, including ASCII, for dumping files without loader information present. SYSGEN SYSGEN/CMD allows you to save one or more SYSGEN files as normal /CMD files. Keep several configurations on the same disk and reload as necessary by simply typing the filename. Especially useful when the preferred configuration consumes so much memory that large programs will not execute properly. SYSGEN/CMD may also be executed from a running BASIC program. When the resultant /CMD file is executed, the BASIC program will continue with the next statement, all program variables intact! UNREPAIR Model I TRSDOS cannot read LDOS disks due to the F8 DAM used for directory sectors. UNREPAIR will rewrite the directory track of a single density disk using the FA DAM that will be recognized by Model I TRSDOS. UNREPAIR should run with any Model I DOS and the Radio Shack E/I. SysGen [Restructure ND2.1]MISSING
SYSGEN This program allows you to restructure NEWDOS 2.1 into a configuration of your choice. Is your disk drive capable of using 77 tracks? Well SYSGEN will change NEWDOS 2.1 into a 77 track DOS. SYSGEN will allow you setup your system so that you can now get at the lower memory addresses you've been kept from copying or examining. SYSGEN will modify NEWDOS 2.1 so that your disk drives can run at one of three speeds, slow (what your running at now), fast (about twice as fast), fastest (seek time is 5 msec). This function is great for people with MPI or Vista disk drives. Why not run them at the speeds they are designed to handle. NOTE: Shugart drives will only go to the fast speed. There are far more features to SYSGEN than can be listed here. SYSGEN is priced at $35.95, and with that price were the only game in town.
